OK, so you’ve got your blog up and running, you’re writing good content and waiting for people to discover you. If you’re not waiting to be discovered you can stop reading here and move on to something else.

RSS Feeds
RSS stands for really simple syndication and at one point most believed it would replace email as the way to receive information on the internet. Ultimately that hypothesis proved false, but RSS is really effective at pushing content to people who are interested in a subject, blog, story, website, etc…

Fortunately, you don’t have to do understand the inner workings of RSS and feed syndication because we’ve taken care of all of the RSS work for you.

RSS on OutLoudBlogs
By default, all of our themes at OutLoudBlogs have RSS feed capabilities built right in, and some even display the following RSS icons or text links:

Most successful bloggers believe you need an RSS button prominently displayed to build your subscriber list, and that’s why we’ve installed the Subscribe Me widget — which you can easily display in your blog’s sidebar or footer.

Note: Some themes already display a big RSS button in their sidebar by default. If that’s the case with your theme then you don’t really need to do this unless you like the rollover effect of this widget.

Enabling the Subscribe Me widget

  1. Log in and proceed to your blog’s dashboard.
  2. From the Appearance menu select the Widgetssubmenu.

  3. Open the sidebar or footer area where you want the widget to appear by clicking the arrow in the title bar.

  4. Drag and drop the Subscribe Me widget into the opened sidebar or footer.

  5. Rename the title and/or text that displays next to the widget and save.

Wasn’t that easy cheesy? Now visitors can discover your blog’s feed.
