I’ve found the best way to build readership in addition to the promotion by OutLoudBlogs is of course using social media.

Twitter and Facebook work well for me. I have a Twittter feed from my blog Focus On The Rainbow plus recently I added a personal Twitter where I can feature various postings and also direct folks to other important items on other blogs or websites.

Also re-Tweet your better or special postings using #gay, #lesbian, #LGBT, #GLBT and/or #samesexsunday when room permits in your Twitter message.

Also making blogging friends help too.

Webmaster Rick can also give you some ideas (he gave me some tips on how to get postings to show up more frequently in searches). And if you hook up with other websites who may do cross-postings with a link that can be a great way too get extra readers.

Anyone have any other tips or ideas ?

I’ve gotten to where I only focus on Twitter and Facebook for social media so I can concentrate on doing those successfully versus being half-assed on a bunch of networks.

One thing members of OutLoudBlogs.com can do to promote their social media accounts is to add your social media connections into your profile page so they show up with an icon that links over to your Twitter, Facebook, etc…

Just go to https://outloudblogs.com/members/XXXXXX/settings/social-media/

Put your username in for XXXXX and you’ll be able to add all of that social media stuff to your profile.
