Stream of unconsciousness as I recover from The Pixies concert on Sunday night. I took my laptop to the bathroom with me this morning so I could drop Diamondbacks’ first baseman Adam LaRoche from my fantasy baseball team and the kids off at the pool. Here’s a telling quote from Cowboys’ wide receiver Roy Williams in [...]

No way I thought Minnesota would win — although I would’ve loved it. Just my opinion that after the first three weeks the entire body of work form the PAC-10 is a little more impressive than the Big Ten but we got a long way to go before the final verdict.

Michigan State head coach Mike Dantonio suffered a heart attack Saturday night after the Spartans thrilling 34-31 overtime victory over Notre Dame. Dantonio had a stent put in a blocked blood vessel leading to the heart, but appears like he will be OK.
“I’m very pleased with the outcome of the procedure. Coach Dantonio is resting [...]

Blake Gideon will face down some personal demons when Texas visits Lubbock, TX to take on the Red Raiders this week. The junior safety is infamous for his dropped interception as a freshman in November of 2008 against Texas Tech. Tech’s fortuitous break occurred one play before Red Raider quarterback Graham Harrell hooked up with Michael Crabtree [...]

Week 3 showcases three Big Ten vs. Pac-10 games. My apologies to the Pac-10 but after this weekend the media will begin one of their favorite annual story lines: which conference can stack up to the SEC? I’m betting on the Big 10 playing bridesmaid to the SEC this year. No. 18 USC visits Minnesota (ESPN, 3:30 [...]

Racing bikes on streets with parked cars? How about if we put people on a NASCAR track?
Rub a little dirt on it Jimmy and get back in there.

Arkansas junior running back Dennis Johnson is out for the foreseeable future after suffering a “bowel injury” during the Razorbacks’ 31-7 win against Louisiana-Monroe last Saturday. You know the queasy, stomach-churning feeling you a crotch punch or kick? Well multiply that by a factor of ten. The injury required Johnson to undergo emergency surgery shortly after the [...]

We often hear football analysts warn us non-football types not to read too much into what happens in the preseason. And while these analysts make some valid points, I often think to myself not how important practice is, but how important it is to practice perfectly.
Anyone who has ever coached anything from little league to the [...]

Well i guess we’ll know whose better between Oregon or Stanford after this weekend.
That’ll be a good game. You should do a stream of consciousness post during the game.
Do you watch the game alongside a forum? Which one (if you do)?
I usually do something similar at What if Sports (dot com).
I guess the tree is out of your top 5 now
Yep- Nebraska’s now in there (AL, Boise State, OSU, Oregon, and Nebraska).
